No sign of life from PS1Digitral board

In the install docs it says that if you dont get 3.3v on the board that it blew a fuse. Does that mean the power supply fuse? Or is there a fuse on the PS1Digital board that needs to be fixed too? My gpu flex cable looked perfect. I powered the PS1 on and got no sign of life from the mod. I double checked and found out that my GPU flex was misaligned by one pin. I was able to remove the flex cable with a hot air rework station and re soldered it on but again getting no analog or voltage on the board.

I have the same issue but no clue which fuse could be blown. I read the directions mentioning a fuse could get blown but no indication of which one. I triple checked my GPU flex and it all looks good so I'm a bit puzzled as to why I'm not getting any lights.

There are loads of little fuses on the Ps1 motherboard. A lot of them have 2 large numbers on top of them like '50'. Check for continuity with a mult meter

That's my next course of action. I appreciate the assistance. Would you know of a good place to source new fuses?

I have found replacements on ebay but they take forever to get. It's like $5 + $2 shipping and you wait a month. It's honestly better to just buy a "broken" PS1 from ebay and take what you need.

I've done half a dozen N64 HDMI, a couple of DCHDMI and dozens of other projects. I had no idea this was going to be so much harder. My soldering looked perfect under magnification but I still had bridges I guess

I have no 5v on the PS1 at all. The 5 volt reg has 7.5v input but no voltage outputting. I switched with another 5v reg and same issue. Any ideas?

Just checked ps604 with my multimeter and got no "beep" of continuity so I'm thinking I may have blown it. I triple checked my ribbon cables and could not see any bridges. I did go over it again just to be sure but want to avoid ruining it from too much heat.

I checked the PS1 Digital board itself while powered and got 5 volts near the audio flex but no 3.3 volts near the GPU flex so I have a feeling it's a blown fuse. I'm hoping it's ps604 otherwise I'm not sure what else I can check at this point. I've done the DC Digital and Ultra HDMI so this isn't my first rodeo. This one isn't a piece of cake, that's for sure.

Are there any other fuses I might want to check? I'm looking at replacing ps604 with the one console5.com sells and then look for a busted Playstation for parts to source in case I need others.

Check all the other "ps" fuses. I busted this same fuse on another mod sometime back. I checked all other fuses but only found this one to not have continuity. Replacing this one fuse brought my playstation back to life.

Awesome find on console5. You mind sharing the link? Personally I researched high and low for that fuse and only found them on ebay.

Will do. Thanks! Here's the link. Of course I check it and they are out of stock. I think they should get more in though. I've gotten cap kits from them for a while and it's all good stuff.

Ah you know I may have ran across this actually. The only stock I could find was ebay. It's like $5 for 5 but shipping took a month or 2. I think it would be a good idea to just get a cheap ps1 as a donor board.

This is the eBay listing I used.

Finally got the mod working. I did have a short on the audio FFC. I'm going to have to buy a new FFC for it though, it is in bad shape and barely making a connection. It was the hardest part for me to get soldered on....

So you're getting video now? Or just power?
Video, no audio because the audio FFC is damaged. Ended up being a 3.3v short to ground on the GPU that blew a fuse, and 5v short to ground as well. My solder job looked fine so I didn't bother checking for shorts before I powered on, which was obviously a mistake. Hoping I can order a replacement FFC soon from Dan

I heard he has flex cables in stock just not the GPU one

Thanks for the ebay link. I'll take a look at that for sure. Sorry to hear about the short. I'll be giving my cable pins another review once a replacement fuse is installed.
