Alundra Screen tearing

Hello! Sorry for making so many threads. I've been trying out my Japanese disc copy of Alundra and the top 10% ish of the screen has some pretty distracting screen tearing when moving horizontally. I tried playing on an emulator and it doesn't happen there. I also tried legend of mana which is another 2d game and it didn't have any screen tearing.

I wonder if this is a compatibility problem with the PS1 digital? Maybe I fried my GPU when installing? D: Any ideas?

Well, I just tried the game over RGB on the PS1, as well as with RGB on my PS2 slim and it has screen tearing on both. The JP version of Alundra must have a glitch or maybe my disc is faulty. Sorry for the useless thread! I should have checked more thoroughly before posting.
