Video distortion with Composite, DC DIGITAL not working.

DC DIGITAL installed in my VA01. I checked everything with a continuity tester & found no bridges after the DC Digital installation. I put everything back including the controller port and the noctua fan minus the top case to check the results. I currently have a clone GDEMU installed.

With composite hooked up via retrotink 2x I get sound but no video. With the Hyperkin cable that is hdmi out I get distorted video and sound. With the hdmi hookd up I get nothing, tv will not recognize any source when using the mini hdmi to hdmi cable coming from the console. I tried 2 different cables to be sure.Thank you for stopping by and taking a look. Any ideas of what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated.20210121_202441.jpg20210121_202432.jpg20210121_212037.jpgScreenshot_20210121-220108_Gallery.jpg20210121_212234.jpg20210121_202647.jpg20210121_202720.jpg20210121_203412.jpg20210121_204511.jpg

Hmm, the dcdigital with mine defaulted to 480p I think which my av controller didn't like (yamaha) I hook it directly to the tv so I could see the 480p hdmi signal and then switch it 1080p which my av controller has no issue with, if you have a av controller it might be worth trying. As for the composite, there is a setting in the hdmi (once you can see what you are doing to select cable select if you are using both). I believe in the instructions there is a guide to connecting to a wifi access point on the dcdigital to set these in your browser. I have a composite cable somewhere I will try it and see if with the difference settings I can reproduce your results :) takes a bit of tinkering you once you have it dial in is amazing :)

follow up: works with av leads as long as 'cable select' and not 'force vga' is selected. It maybe if force vga is selected that I get the gabbled video you do but my samsung tv when something is slightly out of spec just gives me a 'no signal splash screen', not allowing me to see the raw signal as it were. If I can be any more help give me a shout and I can experiment a little here.

with the hdmi connected you can try blind to press rt + lt+ x + a + start to get the dcdigital to the menu, press rt once, then press down twice, then rt again, should put you into 1080p mode. I did this successfully when I accidentally changed the settings messing about

Let this be a lesson:
I broke the number 1 rule, stop-think logically-Be patient and troubleshoot when encountering issues. Regretfully I pulled pins removing the cable when trying to re-set the cable. I have a spare dreamcast that I am going to send to Dragons Hoard to do this mod.
