Updated to v4.8 and now the DCDigital won't output any signal.

Well, the title pretty much sums it up.

I have had an issue for a while with it no longer doing the in-game reset. After my initial install all functions of the DCDigital worked correctly. I installed a MODE about a month after the DCDigital and everything worked well for several weeks, then I was suddenly unable to do an in-game reset through the DCDigital. It would appear to reset the DCDigital (screen would go black and silent for a few seconds), but the system would not rest and the game would continue as if nothing had happened.

I was planning to take another look at my work or reach out here on the forums, figuring something had worked loose from my install but it was low priority since I could simply power cycle the system to do a full reset anyway.

This morning I saw that a new firmware was out and so updated it. The process went as normal and installed without any obvious issues. When It finished, I chose the reset option and the system went black like it usually has been lately and then came back up to the mode menu without a full reset. I then decided, to ensure it definitely reset completely, power cycled the Dreamcast.

Since then I have had no video output from the DCDigital. The system is still working fine when hooked up through the analog output but I can't see the DCDigital OSD from there, obviously.

Anyone know how to revert back to v4.7 without being able to see the OSD?

Thanks,

Brian.

Do you have access to the web console? If not you can use to the IAP mode to configure "HTTP User" and "HTTP Password" using the setup command.
Then you could try to update the firmware again using the procedure described here: How to update the Firmware from the web console
If the web console doesn't find any new firmware, you can use the cleanup command first to force the system to download and flash the firmware again.
Changes between v4.7 and v4.8 are minimal, but if you want to go back to v4.7 use the
setup command and set "Firmware Version" to v4.7 to pin the update mechanism to that version.
For the non working reset, please make sure that the wire from the RST point didn't come loose.

Thanks Chris.

I had tried the API mode but didn't think about it until just now.... I tried to log onto the module from my wired PC. SMDH. I should have realized that I needed to log onto the AP from my laptop wirelessly. Sometimes when you are frustrated the stuff you know gets lost in the irritation.

I'll try again and update you how it goes.

Well, that appears to be a bust. I can't get the API to start.

Is there a way to restore it to defaults and possibly the original firmware version it shipped with? Sort of like a hard reset?

If not, I guess I'll have to pull it and decided if I want to by the parts to push the firmware through USB myself or just send it to Dan to be reprogrammed.

Thanks,
Brian.
