Signal drop outs

Hello! I just finished my install and it all seems to be working except I get a video drop out whenever I enter the menu in FF7. Both the video and audio cut out. I'm getting all the hearts on the test screen during FF7s FMVs. Is my disc drive just dying? I just want to rule out that It isn't caused by a poor install.

Also, on the PS1 start up screen the SONY logo at the top has these single pixels of a lighter colour, it almost looks like dithering. I've never seen the logo in HD before so I was just wondering if thats normal? I can't see that in any youtube videos showing the start up, but that may just be due to compression etc.

It seems like it drops out whenever the game switches resolution, I get it on the after battle screen and name change screens too.

Edit: I can rule out the disc drive, I tried the analogue output and there were no problems! So i guess its either my TV and game monitor or my install thats at fault?
Edit 2: Using Force 240p or 480i solves the issue it seems?

Yes that is expected, you need to use force 240p when games are multi progressive/interlaced. This is normal behavior.
