PS1 digital problem with Alundra?

Hello again! I realize I made another post about this game in regards with the PS1 digital, but by coincidence I may have found a slight compatibility problem with the same game.

The bottom 1/3 of the screen seems to lag behind the top half by about 3 or 4 pixels, it only does so when moving.
Changing the vertical scaling options (the ones added in the new firmware) also seems to change the position at which this occurs substantially, which is what makes me think it may be a slight PS1 digital compatibility problem.

I also tried the analogue port on my modded PS1 as well as a 70k and 90k PS2 and none of the three showed this particular problem.

I'll see if I can take a video of it tomorrow and post again.

Any ideas? Thanks for reading! :)

I assume this game switches between 240p and 480i? And you have 240p force mode enabled?
In order to not go through an hdmi resync, PS1Digital keeps the 240p timings, where the frame rate is a tiny bit lower than in 480i (59.83Hz vs 59.94Hz). Thus the alignment to the start of the frame slowly drifts while in 240p forced 480i. When switching back, this offset stays and may end up in the visible area until the game switches to 480i again. The reset menu in the OSD has the option "Reset memory alignment", This realigns input and output frame again if needed for the price of an hdmi resync.

Thanks for the reply! :) This game is always 240p throughout all gameplay, the menus don't switch resolutions either. I'll try turning off force 240p as well as the memory alignment and see if that does something!

So I just tried to replicate the issue and film it, but it seems to have vanished now... which is a good thing I guess! I'll keep playing and see if it happens again, maybe it only occurs on some boots or something?
I've tried resetting the PS1, resetting memory alignment, changing the scaling as well as turning off force 240p with no dice.

For what its worth, resetting memory alignment doesn't seem to drop signal on my TV? Also, completely unrelated, but the "Full reset (including PS1 Digital)" option only seems to reset my PS1D and not my PS1. Is that option meant to do that? Is it an option for the X-Station?

Thanks!!! :)

Yes, that's possible. If you have force mode enabled, it depends on how long the game needs to load and start. The startup and initial loading screen are always in 480i.
Btw, I also have some ideas on how to remove this memory offset wrapping effect completely.

It only drops the signal if it's actually misaligned.

"Full reset (including PS1 Digital)" option only seems to reset my PS1D and not my PS1.
This is a bug which is already fixed in the upcoming v1.1.1 (will be released today or tomorrow)
