No video and no sound after install. Dim LED. Any additional troubleshooting?

The VMU beeps on start and the fan runs but I have no video or sound on HDMI or composite cables. I followed troubleshooting from the instructions: I do have the wireless access point. I have no option wire connected because DC was stock. I have verified no shorts and continuity on every pin to the back side of the resistor in the ribbon, where applicable. The only odd situation was the VSYNC pin and ribbon cable pad had continuity but at the resistor the wire was open. Eventually I ran a 30awg jumper wire from the pin to the resistor but still no success. During the install I did damage the reset pad on the back of the motherboard by using too stiff of wire which pulled off the pad during reassembly. I tried to repair a few ways and went with the silver epoxy defroster repair kit to adhere the wire to the remnants of the trace. If the RST circuit could cause my scenario, how can I be sure the reset wire on the back of mobo is connected properly?

Next, I searched online and learned about the LED. I have what looks like a dim LED which suggests no clock from Dreamcast, check connection to VCLK. I have no bridged pins around VCLK and I have contuity from the pin to the back of the resistor in the ribbon cable. I also saw the suggestion to run with ribbon cable disconnected from DCHDMI board, which I did with no success. I also verified proper voltages on the power supply pins. So what else can I check and how? Is there a pin out for the flat end of the ribbon cable? Any help is appreciated, happy holidays!!

There has to be a short related to the flex if you get no composite video. Do you have any pictures of the install?

Thanks for the reply. I took some pictures but they are poor quality: I definitely had a few bridged pins I didn't catch before the first boot, next time I will check with the meter first to be safe. I had poor alignment on one leg and removed the flex cable yesterday but damaged it and will need a new one. Now I'm trying to determine if I need another Dreamcast. Will the Dreamcast still work if you remove the flex cable and disconnect the dchdmi board? Mine doesn't... I posted here but never got an answer: https://www.reddit.com/r/dreamcast/comments/kifok9 I can't find much troubleshooting information for the DC itself. I tried to find a wiring diagram but it is too blurry. I have no activity from the disc drive but the DC turns on along with the fan.

I think Imgur is having problems right now unless I am doing something wrong with these links. it's imgur.com/a/noNMyqG

It should work fine after you remove the cable. You might need to clean up some pins though. The GDROM drive also needs to be seated for video to work.
