GCdual programming issues.

Hello everybody,

I’ve been trying to program my GCdual board (I’ve had some made using the gerber files from Oshpark) but I’ve been hitting some snags trying to do it.

I’m using the programmer that is used in the tutorial video but every time I get either a Timeout, chips not null or chips are in disagreement.

I’ve connected the wires by way of soldering instead of pulling them down to force them to connect to be sure the connection is solid.

The auto function does not work and manually doing the program isn’t working either.

Programming done both installed and uninstalled in a Gamecube.

Could someone please elaborate further on how to do it properly?

Also, the hookup board on Oshpark is 5.2 but the main board is 5.3, is it safe to use them together or? (5.2 has a spot for a diode, is it needed? If so, what part is because its not listed in the BOM. I also noted that the BOM for the mainboard 5.3 is missing R6, I’ve deducted that it might be the same as R4 and 5 and added the resistor according to those two values)

Any help is appreciated, really breaking my head over these issues and getting them to work so I can install

Thanks in advance!

Ps: The GCdual is by far the best video mod for the Gamecube IMO.

I recommend you watch the update video I did. I go step by step. If it doesn't work, then there has to be a connection issue to the flash. Shorter wires can help.

It’s working now, it seems for now it was a cable length issue.

My next question is:

how do I get VGA to work.
I’m using a small 5” LCD that I know supports 480i over VGA but for some reason I get no sync.

Is there a setting in the OSD menu I need to enable or a jumper setting on one of the boards?

thanks
