[FIXED] PS1Digital bricked after changing a setting in a game?

[FIXED: the issue wasn't with the game, it was the GPU flex.]

Hi.
My PS1Digital stopped working after changing a setting in a game. Not sure if this is a known issue.
In Castlevania Chronicles, when you input the Konami code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X, Start) you'll get into a hidden menu where you can set date and display mode. I set the current date and as display mode I chose 'trimmed'. After that I exit the menu and loaded arrange mode. Then the TV lost signal and didn't recover. I had been playing for about two hours by that time.
The original AV port still works fine so I loaded the game back up and set the display mode back to normal but it didn't make a difference.
PS1 model is SCPH-5502, PAL, motherboard 18 and it has X-Station installed too. The game is NTSC.

The led is solid blue. Firmware v1.3.4. No signal on TV or Elgato HD60 Pro capture card.

Any ideas?

Edit: When changing resolutions, the capture card sometimes showed 1frame and the frame was corrupted every time. See the attached files.

Do you have access to web console?
If yes, please skip to 4):
  1. Use L2 + start + square + triangle + X + O to enter IAP (Installer Access Point) mode.
You should see this access point:
    WiFi SSID: PS1Digital-Install
    WiFi Password: installme!
    HTTP Username: please
    HTTP Password: installme!
    IP Address: 192.168.4.1
  2. Connect to this access point.
  3. With a browser of your choice connect to http://192.168.4.1
  4. Use the command testdata
A test screen will be shown, the important information is "Raw input resolution" and the two lines below.
After zeroing the Counters with space, the numbers for min/max width and height should stay the same.
If the numbers are fluctuating, this is pointing to an issue with the flex connections to HSYNC and VSYNC.

Did you use the button combo mentioned in step 1? Boot the console up, wait for a few seconds and then use the button combination.
You can check, if PS1Digital entered IAP mode, by checking the SSID of the access point created, it's always "PS1Digital-Install" in this mode.
Without the combo, the access point created will use a generated password (which you can only see through the OSD) unless you have set "HTTP Username" and "HTTP Password" during the setup procedure, in which case those will be used.

I did use the combination. Tried accessing the site with a laptop and with a phone after connecting to the PS1Digital-Install access point.
It asks for username and password; after inputting the before mention login info, it just asks them again.
I tried with 3 different browsers, Brave, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
I'll ask my installer if he changed the login info.

Edit: Installer didn't touch those settings. I'll send this unit back to him for reflowing.
