Does XStation OSD lid switch mod kill the real lid switch?

I was thinking about setting up the OSD disc swapping feature. Will that eliminate the ability to use the actual lid on the console for changing discs, or can I do both OSD and physical lid?

The actual lid switch still works as expected. By default PS1Digital follows the lid switch and only overrides it to trigger the disc change.
