Cannot access OSD

Hi, I installed PS1Digital on my SCPH-5502. This is PAL console. Picture is crisp and sound is perfect. Problem is that I can’t access OSD. My controller works. I have checked continuity between motherboard controller port connector pins and PS1Digital board so flex cable is properly soldered and making good connection.

This is picture of my PAL SCPH-5502 console BIOS screen.

What type of controller are you using? Have you tried a different one? Perhaps one of the buttons is bad that you don't use in game so you have never noticed.

This is weird problem. I have tried now three different controllers. PAL console controllers. Those all are original PS1 digital and analog controllers. Controllers are in good condition and every button works very well in games. I have really tried a button combination on many games in menus, during FMV video etc. but nothing happens. Continuity is also checked between motherboard controller port connector pins and PS1Digital board flex connector pins so flex cable is making good connection.

No anymore. It was then installed when I was installing PS1Digital and booting that first time with HDMI. I removed Reset board after I noticed that I can’t access OSD. But It didn’t help. Reset board have button combination: START+SELECT+L2+R2.

One last thing. You are trying OEM controllers?

I can have you send back the board and I can confirm the board is working properly or not.

Yes they are all OEM controllers. I own those about 20 pcs and all are OEM controllers so I could test more at this evening when I’m get back to home. I could also test console in other TV. I also wondering that could it possibility that there is something compatibility problems with my 50hz PAL console or that BIOS?

No those shouldn't be a issue at all. I don't think a different tv would matter or bios. To confirm the controller works fine in game with the controller flex plugged into the PS1Digital?

I have still one idea, that I could test my friend PS1Digital board with my already completed and all flex cables installed console. I also supposed to do later his PS1Digital install.

I now tested an another PS1Digital board with same modded console. OSD works perfectly with that board. I also noticed that picture is clearly much sharper and very stabile with my friend PS1Digital board. My own board have little shaky picture and ofcource that OSD not work at all. Test picture also shows that shakines. I said earlier that I had crisp picture but I had nothing to compare. Now it’s very easy to say that my friend board have perfect and sharpest picture what I’ve ever seen.

You likely bob de-interlacing on in your unit (the shakiness) and the output resolutions are different, 576p vs VGA. So these are not fair comparisions.

Now that still doesn't explain the OSD. Can you contact me on my webstore please with your order number.
