Just to put in my 2 cents. While I was adding mods, I had to unplug the fan (with and without the fan mod) a bunch of times. It looks like it was just enough to break loose the soldering points to the white 3 pin connector to the controller board. I re-soldered it, and works good as new again...

I had a similar issue. Everything was 100%, but after about 20/30 min, most of my colors got janked. The next day, I resoldered some points, after I found a small bridge. It could be due to the system warming up. Thermal expansion and all of that. DSC04593.jpg, is there a bridge on pins 5/6...
