I had an issue with a broken trace right after the resistor stray - using magnet wire to jump that trace from the resistor all the way to the DCDigital PCB fixed my audio issues.

Could you take a more zoomed in pic of what’s happening at the audio DAC? It’s a little hard to see how all those wires are soldered. I notice you’re using the audio flex in tandem? Sometimes those lose continuity when pressure, such as folding, is applied to them.

I always use Kapton tape to firmly secure the flex cable against the GPU; the sticky piece of tape comes loose very easily.

I would still reflow IC701 since it's both involved in sound and the key component of the XStation installation. Also, Dan and Chrisof are a lot more active on Discord than on here, as are more people generally: https://discord.gg/wrHgE3wk

No audio can be caused by legs on IC701 no longer making a connection, possibly lifted a little by accident when installing the XStation. I would try to reflow IC701. Doing the same with IC310, the sound RAM, wouldn’t hurt either.

You can just look at what the pin arrangement on the audio flex cable is: Pin 2 of the chip = Pin 1 on flex end = pin 1 on board Pin 3 of the chip = Pin 2 on flex end = pin 2 on board etc...

And that was the only chip you had reflowed? Does anything happen when you press down on the bios with your fingers as you power on the console? I’ve had black screens be caused by RAM/BIOS/CPU/GPU needing to be reflowed, so pressing down on each one at a time at booting up may help to narrow...

Did you apply fresh solder and flux or just reheated the old solder?

Are you getting any analog or digital audio during the black screen?
