    I did some more poking and looks like there's a short somewhere. I have a dead fuse, tried to replace it and it blew again. In the end I decided to buy a new flex packet and do the mod on a new psx which works flawlessly :)

    Figured I would mention that the CD drive worked fine before the mod. PSX 5501 PU-18, verified 5V and 3.3V on the PS1Digital board.
