WiiDual Internal Installation for CPU-40 & up Wii's

This is kit is for advanced installers only. I am not held responsible to damage to your console or damage to the kit. Each kit is personally tested by me and confirmed working before being shipped out. This document assumes you know how to take apart the Wii with basic tools as these instructions will not be included.

This kit uses Zero Force Flip Lock Insertion FFC for the Flex cable. FFC connectors are fragile and can be broken easily if care is not taken.

Please use lead free solder when install this kit. The Wii is produced with lead free solder. Lead free and leaded solder do not mix properly. This can create issues during the install process.

Step 1 - Understanding the jumpers

• There are two signals that you can control on the WiiDual Board. CSYNC and the MODE input. MODE input is not a relevant feature at the moment but could be in the future with different firmware.
  CSYNC can be routed to 3 locations.
  • No Where (Only Component Video and RGsB will work) - Do NOT short anything
  • Composite Video (Composite Video will no longer work) - SHORT PADS 2&3
  • Data Pin 15 (Japanese Wii's will lose d-terminal support) - SHORT PADS 1&2
• Retro Access currently sells a RGBS cable that works with Data Pin 15. All other scart cables for the Wii are wired to Composite video.

Step 2 - RGB Cable Pinout

• The WiiDual RGB colors are swapped around from the standard scart cables. If you have an existing cable, you will need to modify it. Retro Access WiiDual cables already has this done.

Step 3 - Understanding which components to remove based on CSYNC choices

• The Components highlighted in yellow must be removed no matter what choice is picked
• If you chose Composite Video for CSYNC you must also remove components high-lighted in BLUE
• If you chose Data Pin 15 for CSYNC you must remove parts highlighted in red.

Step 4 - Time to start modding

• Watch the WiiDual install video and follow along. Change your sync options from what I do in the install video based on your choices above.

FAQ

• How do I bring up the OSD? - Hold down Left Trigger + Right Trigger + X + Y on the gamecube remote. Or use a universal remote, hit the button on the back of the console to pair a remote.
• The OSD will not come up with the gamecube controller? Make sure the gamecube controller is plugged in before turning the Wii on.
